Packaging of Materiel

o This revision dated 12 January 2004–

o Replaces reference to MIL-STD-2073 B and MIL-STD-2073-2C to MIL-STD-2073-1, throughout the document.

o Removes reference to Integrated Logistics Support.

o Removes all references to Defense Logistics Studies Information Exchange.

o Removes reference to NAVSUPINST 4030.47.

o Removes reference to fire-retardant packaging throughout the document.

o Removes the requirement to provide a copy of hazardous materiel container compliance verification reports to Defense Technical Information Center.

o Mandates that a copy of hazardous materiel container compliance verification test reports be provided to Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Distribution Center, New Cumberland, PA.

o Requires Material Safety Data Sheet with hazardous materiel returns only if the changed portions have not been highlighted.

o Prescribes responsibility for compliance with Department of Defense Hazardous Materials Packaging and Transportation requirements and removes references to individual regulatory documents (para 2-1p).
